ファーストアルバムが出た頃でしょうか。イギリスでは大型新人として注目され、メジャーアーティストしかいないブリット・アワードのステージに、インディーバンドとしてパフォーマンスをしたくらいです。
ヴォーカルのブレッドが若干（？）ビッグマウスだったりして、色々な意味で注目を集めることになります。
CHART BREAKERS
Stone Temple Pilots / Sex Type Thing
グランジ旋風の中デビューしたストーン・テンプル・パイロッツ、日本では略してストテンなんて呼ばれ方もしています。
パール・ジャムの劣化版だと言われることもありますが、1stアルバムは800万枚売れました。しかしバンドは今後、ヴォーカルのスコットの薬物問題や様々なトラブルに振り回されることになります。
しかしこのスコット・ウェイランドのヴォーカルは素晴らしく、色々な歌い方ができる特異な方でもあります。
