ここまで録画や保存をいくつかこなして、何とか慣れてまいりました。今のところ92年の分は20回分、93年分は40回分ありました。少ないと思っていた割にはそこそこ残っているようです。しかしビデオデッキのステレオ再生の様子がおかしくなり、修復できなくなってしまいました。ノーマル再生は問題ないのですが、修理する技術や根性はありませんので、もう一台デッキを探すのが早まりそうです。

プ ロディジーの1st。PVはFireです。90年代初期の攻撃的なレイブミュージックそのものです。今となっては流石に古さを感じますが、ここから始まっ たともいえる記念碑的作品です。当時はクラブ系レーベルだったXL Recordingsから出ていたのですが、今は方針が変わったらしくロック系アーティストのレーベルになっています。

夏はSnap、秋はThe Shamen。 この曲は確かに懐かしいと感じさせてくれるのですが、EDM全盛の現在においても再評価されるまでには至っていません。尤もEDMはDJが歌でオーディエ ンスを盛り上げ、サビのインストメロディーで最高潮に達するスタイルが多いので、元がバンドであったシェイメンとは明確な違いがあります。
最近になって主にアメリカでEDMというジャンルが出てまいりましたが、自分は最初、Electronic Dance Music という略称なので、ピコピコしてるシンセ音（すごい言い草）ならなんでもEDMなのかと思ったら違いました。
定義としては、異論はあるでしょうが、DJないしプロデューサーが電子音で作詞作曲した曲の音源を本人がステージ上でかけるスタイルで、シンセなどの演奏は基本的にしません。
つまり音楽ジャンルとしての用語ではなく、スタイルとしての用語なのです。
音楽のジャンルとしてはハウスやトランスが多いですが、中にはダブステップなどもあるようで、踊ってパーティー気分を盛り上げる機能的なスタイルになっているようです。
日本でもEDMイベントが行われていますが、こちらで流行るかは法律改正が鍵になるのではないでしょうか。
